We build your lamps to match your exact voltage and wattage so the heat flux stays consistent with what you’re used to. Now, keep in mind: those high-wattage quartz tubes hit hard and fast. They provide the instant energy you need, but they can put a real strain on your power supply. Just double-check that your transformers can handle that initial surge when you flip the switch.
The Tech Under the Hood
We use high-purity quartz because annealing tunnels are brutal. The thermal shock alone would crack cheaper glass. Depending on what you’re producing, you might want clear tubes or coated ones. Here’s the trick: coated lamps shift the light spectrum to better match how your glass absorbs heat. It’s a simpler way to stop wasting energy. And don’t worry about the wiring. We use standard R7s or SK15 connectors. You can just plug them in and go—no need to rip out your existing sockets or spend hours modifying your setup.
The Reality of Custom Builds
Sometimes you’ve got a cramped machine and need a lamp with a non-standard length or voltage to make it fit. We can do that. But there’s a trade-off. If we cram too much heat into a shorter tube and your airflow is blocked, you’re going to burn out your filaments. It’s a balancing act between the filament load and the tube diameter to make sure the lamp actually lasts. These things are built to take a beating in a 24/7 shop. Just make sure your cooling fans are actually spinning—if the ends of the lamps overheat, nothing lasts forever.
