Why go modular?
If you’re running a bottle annealing furnace, you know that thermal profiles have to be spot on to get the stress out of the glass. The problem with individual lamps? If your spacing is off by even a couple of millimeters, you get “cold spots.” It’s frustrating and ruins the batch. Our modules come with a fixed geometry. The lamps are already set in a pre-bent frame, so the distance between the quartz and the bottle stays exactly the same across the whole zone. No more guessing. We build these based on the wattage and voltage you actually need. Now, a quick heads-up: high-wattage shortwave lamps are great for fast cycles, but they pull a lot of power. Just double-check that your transformers can handle the peak draw when everything kicks on, or you’ll be staring at a tripped breaker.
The nuts and bolts
We use high-purity quartz glass because it can take the thermal shock without cracking. Depending on what you’re heating, we can add specific coatings to the tubes. This pushes the energy into the glass where it belongs, rather than just heating up your furnace walls. Then there’s the wiring. Let’s face it—loose wires are usually the first thing to break. We ditched those for industrial-grade connectors (like R7s or SK15) built right into the frame. It turns the whole thing into a drop-in replacement. You plug it in, flip the switch, and you’re back in business.
Less sweat, less downtime
Building your own heating arrays takes forever. By switching to a turnkey module, you can skip the manual bending and wiring entirely. We’re talking about turning an installation process that used to take days into something that takes a few hours. One thing to keep in mind: these modules take up a bit more room than a single tube. Before you order, just take a quick look at your furnace chassis to make sure you have the clearance. If it’s too tight, you might overheat the support frame, and nobody wants that.
