
Making Bathrooms Warm Without the Eye-Strain
When we build infrared heaters for bathrooms, we’re fighting two main battles: water and light. It’s one thing to keep the electronics dry, but it’s another thing entirely to make sure the heat doesn’t hurt someone’s eyes—especially when you’ve got babies or toddlers splashing around in the tub. The “Glare” Problem Most standard infrared lamps are blinding. They hit you with a harsh, bright light that feels like staring into a spotlight. We don’t want that. Instead, we tweak the light spectrum. We push the output toward the medium and long waves, filtering out that piercing UV and high-energy visible light. The result? You get a soft, warm glow instead of a beam that feels like a laser. Your skin gets the warmth it needs, but your retinas stay safe. Keeping the Water Out Bathrooms are wet. Period. That’s why we use IP55-rated housings. It basically means we’ve sealed the electrical junctions and used tempered glass fronts to keep dust and water jets from getting where they shouldn’t be. The glass is a double-win: it keeps the internals dry and helps filter the light one last time before it hits the room. The Honest Trade-off Here is the thing: when you dial back that intense luminosity to protect your eyes, you lose a bit of that “instant punch” you see in big industrial heaters. It takes a few seconds longer to really feel the heat. To fix that, we spent a lot of time on the reflector geometry. We shaped it to push the heat straight down, so you aren’t waiting around to feel warm. One quick tip on installation: don’t cram these into a tight, unventilated space. If the housing can’t breathe, it’ll trap heat and trip the safety cut-off. We built these to handle the humidity and the chaos of a family bathroom, but they still need a little elbow room to work their magic.
